This year members of RegisterEverywhere.com attended Defcon 19. It was lots of fun, if you are a true blue computer geek. Lots of new things out there that computer security experts should definitely be concerned about. However, what was really interesting were the side SEO discussions that were taking place with respect to new linking methodologies, clearly defining all aspects of the Google Panda update, and new ways to rank sites higher on Google and others. Here is a pic from inside the lion’s den:
Lots of interesting talks took place at Def Con 19, which took place at the Rio in Las Vegas. However, since we live and breathe SEO, our main concern was all the side discussions that were taking place by some of the sharpest minds in the industry with respect to new SEO methods.
Us and everyone we spoke with agreed, you must keep all SEO work white hat. Observe the search engine guidelines and don’t over-optimize, don’t outsource your SEO to foreign link building companies that don’t have a clue of what they are doing. I have lost count of the number of times RegisterEverywhere.com has been hired to clean up the mess these so-called SEO companies that have little or no experience doing search engine optimization have left behind.
We encourage readers to attend such conventions so they feel the energy of 18,000 people coming together to solve common problems.
