SCALE is the Southern California Linux Expo. These are the open source guys. Once a year they hold out a conference where they have different speakers from the world of open source. This year it was held at the Los Angeles Airport Westin Hotel.

The whole open source movement seems to be lacking any real representation from the search engine optimization industry. To my knowledge I was the only one there that represented anyone from the search engine optimization community. That's a shame as so many people I know in the SEO industry use open source software and tools like Open Office, CentOS, Zenoss and so many others.

Hopefully, next year more members from the search engine optimization community will be there to support SCALE.
