Rupert Murdoch Will Block Google – The Anti-SEO

The issue has been a long-standing issue of opt-in vs. opt-out. Google and the rest of the search engines are attempting to index everything on the Internet. That’s why RegisterEverywhere.com is in business; we help websites come up higher in search engines. If search engines didn’t index content from the Internet, our search engine optimization services would not be required. Imagine if Google had to obtain permission from every single user with a website to index its content. Their databases would probably be nearly empty! Currently, Google and many other search engines allow websites to opt-out from getting indexed by creating a robots.txt file. Granted, some search engines, I won’t name them, don’t follow their own rules of not indexing sites that do not want to be indexed. However, search engines are good for society so we do not want to inhibit them from indexing everything in the world, unless of course they will be in violation of laws or in violation of infringing on someone else’s rights. Is Google in violation of other people’s rights? Who knows, lots of companies seem to think so. Just ask AT&T. However, that is why lawyers go to law school. We will leave this one for the courts. In my opinion, there are way too many lawsuits going back and forth. Imagine if everyone in the world just sued each other. It’s getting crazy out there.
