Steve Ballmer is Leaving Microsoft – Does the SEO Community Need to Worry about Bing?

The founder of Register Everywhere, Inc started another company back in 2006 that he finally launched in 2009 called Sosbuzz.com. The goal with that site was to help causes, and change the way search works. Imagine searching for kitchen remodeling companies, and having a bunch of kitchen remodeling ads appear that have a checkbox next to each ad. You simply click on the checkbox next to the ads that you are interested in, leave your preferred contact information, and have those advertisers call you back. If they are interested in your request, they will call you back; if they are not, they won't. This search advertising model gives the searcher negotiation leverage, and the advertiser doesn't burn money or bogus clicks, as they are billed per lead or per sale. Well, the founder of Register Everywhere, Inc came up with that model, and had it patented. Imagine if Bing implemented a model like that on their search results? What would that mean for SEO? Will more people start using Bing? Searchers want convenience and near instant gratification of their search request. A search model like that, or any such major search innovation, can cause a massive shift of the pendulum to Bing's side. When searches increase, Bing will need to find a way to monetize on those results, and they too will spend a lot more time playing with their algorithms to try and deliver the highest ROI for their shareholders. Yes, I submit to you that it is just a matter of time until Bing comes up with some innovative way of searching that will cause the SEO game we all are accustomed to playing, to completely change!
