SEO Case from Chicago
This is a free white paper about an experienced Chicago Attorney that hired our SEO Company to get his site on to the first page of the natural search results of the search engines, as his so called SEO firm was unable to do so. On a Monday morning, precisely at 10AM, we received a call from an attorney in Chicago who wanted to speak to the manager. We asked him if there was a problem, and he said he did not want to waste any more time with SEO companies that were not going to deliver results. He said his previous SEO firm had told him that had search engine optimized his site, and by that they meant they were bidding on his behalf on a round-robin system via Google AdWords. Meaning this attorney's site was showing up every once in a while, and only under the sponsored ads section of Google, and would disappear when you refreshed the page. Here is What We Learned: The SEO client had found a company advertising on Bing for the keyword "SEO Chicago." So our client was happy that he found a local firm that specializes in SEO (search engine optimization). Our client was told by his previous SEO Company, that they are one of the best SEO companies in the country, and that they never miss. The SEO company had incredibly low prices, our attorney client noted, they charged only $99 per month and guaranteed to have the site on the top 3 results of Google. He said that he read the terms, and the contract, and everything seemed fine. He also felt that it would be stupid of someone to try to mislead an attorney, especially one licensed in your own home state of Illinois, and practices out of his Chicago office, 15 miles from that SEO firm's office. So the client began the campaign. Our client said he received a phone call of someone requesting his legal services almost immediately after paying his SEO company the first installment of $99. Our client was ecstatic when his caller confirmed he found him on Google. That was the final phone call our client received during the ensuing 2 months. We investigated his key phrases immediately. We searched Google for personal injury attorney Chicago, and he wasn't there. That was his main key phrase. So we relayed that info to the client on the phone. He argued with us that we are surely mistaken. So he got on his computer and he searched, and he wasn't there. He search again, and again he wasn't there. He put us on hold, called his SEO company, and called us back and said that as soon as he called them, they told him to check again, and he did, and walla, his site was right there, under the sponsored ads. You can see what that Chicago SEO company had done. They removed his ads completely from Google AdWords, but kept his account active. When the attorney called to complain, they activated the ad, while the client was on hold. Within a couple of minutes the ad started to appear again. Our attorney learned then and there that not all SEO companies are built the same. In fact, some SEO companies are not SEO companies at all; they are SEM (search engine marketing) companies, masquerading as SEO firms. Moreover, our attorney client in Chicago learned the hard way the difference between natural search results and sponsored search results. There is no way on earth someone can get continuous 24/7 serving of ads on Google for the key phrase "personal injury attorney Chicago" for $99 per month. That key phrase could cost thousands of dollars per month on Google AdWords! We explained to our client that just because an unscrupulous firm in Chicago was advertising on Bing for the key phrase "SEO Chicago" doesn't mean they should be trusted. We further explained how we at RegisterEverywhere.com do white-hat SEO and that we can get his Chicago law firm's site on the first page of the natural search results of major search engines. He gave us a shot, and we over-delivered! We had to do a lot of on-site work for that client's website, as he essentially had a 3 page website. Owever, when all was said and search engine optimized, our client started to receive phone calls from both the organic search results of major search engines, and Google Places too! SEO Lesson: Don't confuse SEO (search engine optimization) companies with SEM (search engine marketing) companies. Don't trust your website, a source of your livelihood, to any SEO company that claims they are one of the best in the country at $99 per month! Understand that AdWords and Bing Advertising can drive traffic to your site, but so can organic search engine results; the difference is organic search results will cost you a fraction of the cost! |
